GLP-1 Weight Loss: Semaglutide & Tirzepatide
Physician-directed semaglutide and tirzepatide weight loss with nurse support, plus a plan for your face and skin as the weight comes off.
Evaluate · Prescribe · Support · Restore
Medically reviewed by Dr. James Veltmeyer, MD. Performed by the registered nurses of Satori Medical Aesthetics.
Semaglutide and tirzepatide are once-weekly injectable medications that work with your body's own appetite and blood-sugar signals so you feel full sooner, stay full longer, and lose weight steadily instead of fighting it. Both are FDA-approved for chronic weight management, and both have produced results in clinical trials that no diet program has matched.
At Conjure, GLP-1 treatment is prescribed and directed by a physician, administered and monitored by registered nurses, and paired with something no telehealth service offers: a plan for how your face and skin look when the weight comes off. Candidacy, medication choice and dosing are set by the prescribing provider after a medical evaluation. Not everyone is a candidate, and results are gradual and individual.
Physician-directed, nurse-administered, in person
Your evaluation, prescription and dosing come from Dr. James Veltmeyer, MD, and your injections and check-ins are handled by Satori's registered nurses in the private medical room at Conjure. No app, no anonymous prescriber, no guessing at your own dose.
Two medications, chosen for you
Semaglutide (Wegovy®) and tirzepatide (Zepbound®) work differently and suit different people. Your provider chooses based on your health history, goals and how you respond, and adjusts the dose over the first weeks so side effects stay manageable.
A plan for your face, not just the scale
Rapid weight loss can hollow the cheeks and temples and loosen the jawline. Because Satori's injectors and Conjure's skin-tightening technology are in the same building, your face plan is built alongside your weight plan: Sculptra and Restylane protocols for lost volume, Radiesse for contour, XERF or Forma for laxity.
Private, text-first, no waiting room
Consults happen by text or FaceTime, appointments are by appointment only in Hillcrest, and there's free private parking at the door. You're in and out on your schedule, not a clinic's.
Individual results vary. Weight loss depends on dose, adherence, and lifestyle.
How the GLP-1 Program Works
01 · Consult
Text or FaceTime with the Satori team. Share your goals, health history, current medications and what you've tried before. Text is preferred and fastest.
02 · Medical evaluation
Dr. Veltmeyer reviews your history and, when required, orders labs. If you're a candidate, he selects semaglutide or tirzepatide and sets your starting dose. If you're not, the team tells you plainly and suggests alternatives.
03 · First dose and training
Your first injection is given by a registered nurse in the medical room at Conjure, who shows you exactly how to give the weekly dose yourself and what to expect in the first days.
04 · Weekly dosing, gradual titration
Doses start low and step up over the first several weeks. Going slow is what keeps nausea and other side effects manageable and is how the clinical trials were run.
05 · Check-ins and adjustments
Regular check-ins with the medical team track your progress, side effects and dose. Reach the nurses by text between visits with any question.
06 · Face and skin plan
As the weight comes off, we watch the face and skin. Volume loss is addressed with Sculptra and Restylane or Radiesse by Satori's injectors; laxity with XERF or Forma. Planned early, it's subtle and preventive rather than corrective.
Why Choose Conjure for GLP-1 Weight Loss
Most GLP-1 options in San Diego are one of two things: a telehealth company that mails medication with a questionnaire, or a weight-loss clinic with a waiting room. Conjure is neither. You get a physician's evaluation and a nurse's hands, in a private room you already know, with the honesty to tell you when a medication isn't the right tool.
Weight loss changes the face before it changes anything else. That's why the same team offers the Sculpt & Lift protocol and Radiesse for restored volume, XERF Skin Tightening and Forma Radiofrequency Skin Tightening for laxity, and Microneedling with PRP for skin quality, all in the same building and planned around your progress.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Semaglutide (Wegovy®) acts on one appetite hormone receptor, GLP-1. Tirzepatide (Zepbound®) acts on two, GLP-1 and GIP. In clinical trials, tirzepatide produced somewhat greater average weight loss, but response varies by person, and side-effect profile, health history and cost all factor in. Your prescribing provider makes the choice with you.
-
In the pivotal trials, adults on semaglutide 2.4 mg lost about 15% of body weight over 68 weeks, and adults on tirzepatide 15 mg about 18% over 72 weeks, alongside diet and activity changes. Those are averages; your result depends on dose, adherence and lifestyle. Weight tends to return if the medication is stopped without a maintenance plan, which is why the program includes one.
-
GLP-1 medications are approved for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or sleep apnea. They are not appropriate for anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2, and are avoided with a history of pancreatitis, during pregnancy, and with certain other conditions. Candidacy is decided by the prescribing provider after a medical evaluation.
-
The most common are nausea, constipation, diarrhea and reduced appetite, usually strongest in the first weeks and when the dose steps up. Gradual titration and simple eating adjustments keep most people comfortable. Serious side effects are uncommon but real, which is why this is prescribed and monitored by a medical team rather than sold as a kit.
-
Losing fat quickly can leave the cheeks and temples hollow and the jawline slack. It's manageable, and easier to prevent than to correct. Satori's injectors offer the Sculpt & Lift protocol (Sculptra with Restylane) and Radiesse to restore volume and contour, and Conjure's XERF and Forma treatments tighten skin. We plan this alongside your weight loss rather than after it.
-
No. Your first dose is given by a nurse at Conjure so you learn the technique, then you inject weekly at home. You'll have scheduled check-ins with the medical team and can text the nurses between them. Medication, dosing schedule and follow-up cadence are set by your prescribing provider.
