What Happens in Your 55-Minute Men’s Facial
We take all the guesswork out for you.
Skin check & double cleanse
Your skin therapist looks at your skin, asks what you need and what bothers you (if anything), then double cleanses.
Hot towels, steam & enzyme exfoliation
Hot towels and steam soften pores while organic enzyme exfoliants lift dead skin, with a neck, shoulder and arm massage.
Extractions
Blackheads, whiteheads and trapped hairs are cleared by hand. It can pinch for a second; we go at your pace.
Custom mask & massage
A mask customized for what your skin needs (nothing generic or cut-and-paste) and cooling probiotics, plus a face, neck, shoulder, arm and upper chest massage. Most men fall asleep here.
Beard hydration & finish
Full beard hydration (nothing greasy or overly scented), custom serums, eye treatment, moisturizer and SPF if it’s daytime, plus what to do at home after.
Treatment extends to your neck and beard line if you get breakouts, ingrowns or razor bumps there.

How often should men get a facial?
We recommend a monthly visit to keep your skin clear, glowing and in excellent shape, and most men come back every 4 to 6 weeks. Regular visits keep pores clear and ingrown hairs from building up. Many regulars treat it like a haircut.
What's the difference between a male facial and a female facial?
A male facial is bigger, deeper and stronger. Men's skin is thicker and oilier, so we use more targeted products, deeper cleansing and more extractions. We know what works for men's skin and what doesn't, and it's never generic. A women's facial is customized differently, usually targeting hormonal changes, lifting and firming.
Should I shave before my facial?
Not on the day. Shave at least 24 hours before, or come in with your beard as it is. Freshly shaved skin stings more during exfoliation and extractions. Beards of any length are fine; we cleanse and condition them.
Is a facial good for my beard and the skin under it?
Yes. Skin under a beard traps oil and dead skin, which shows up as itch, flakes and bumps. We cleanse the beard and the skin underneath, treat razor bumps and ingrown hairs, and finish with a non-greasy beard oil.
Will I break out after a facial?
Usually not. After extractions you may see a few small red marks that settle in 24 to 48 hours, and occasionally a spot surfaces as a clogged pore finishes clearing. Leave it alone and it clears on its own. Skip the gym, sauna and shaving for 24 hours to keep pores calm.
I've never had a facial. What actually happens?
You lie down in a private room, your skin therapist checks your skin and explains each step before doing it. Nothing to prepare or know. The 55 minutes are mostly cleansing, steam, extractions, a mask and massage, and most men say it was more relaxing than they expected.
Will my face be red? Can I go back to work?
You may look slightly flushed for an hour or two, like after a workout. Most clients come on a lunch break or after work and go straight back to their day.
Does a men's facial hurt?
No. Extractions can pinch for a second on stubborn blackheads, and exfoliation can feel like a mild tingle that fades in a minute or two. The rest is steam, cleansing and massage.
What should I avoid before and after?
Before: skip retinol and acid exfoliants for 3 days, and facial waxing or laser for 7 days. Tell us about any prescription skincare, a recent sunburn, or Accutane in the past 6 months. After: no shaving, gym or sauna for 24 hours, wear SPF for a few days, and pause retinol and acids for 48 to 72 hours.

Yes. Every Men's Facial at Conjure is performed by a licensed esthetician, which we call a skin therapist, in our private Hillcrest studio.
