The mandelic peel
Even, Luminous Skin, One Visit at a Time
Dark spots, melasma and post-acne marks rarely come from one cause, so a single acid on every face rarely clears them. A hyperpigmentation peel works best when it is built for the pigment in front of it.
Ours leads with mandelic acid and is fully customized by licensed skin therapists (also called estheticians) from several professional products, with lactic or glycolic acid where helpful and brighteners like kojic acid, alpha-arbutin, licorice, bearberry, tranexamic acid and glutathione. You choose no downtime or a stronger, flakier application.
After glow and smoother texture instead? See the Lunchtime Glycolic Peel. Older, deeper pigment or acne scars? The TCA Chemical Peel goes further.
What makes it different
Why This Dark Spot Chemical Peel Works
Six reasons clients choose it for pigment.
Mandelic Acid Leads
A large-molecule acid that works slowly and evenly, so we can brighten pigment-prone skin without rushing it.
Several Professional Products
Not one bottle for every face. Your peel is built from several professional products, chosen for your pigment that day.
Multi-Pathway Brighteners
Kojic acid, alpha-arbutin, licorice, bearberry, tranexamic acid and glutathione target discoloration from different angles.
You Set the Downtime
No-downtime brightening, or a stronger application with a few days of light flaking. You decide together before we start.
Ruby Lux Red Light
A 5-minute Ruby Lux red light session, with the energy of a full hour under regular spa panels, finishes every peel.
Series Pricing, One Visit
At $159, each visit is already priced like a series, without buying a package upfront.

Mandelic Peel FAQ
Answers to what people ask most about brightening peels. Still unsure? Ask a skin therapist, it’s free.
How much is a mandelic peel in San Diego?
Ours is $159 for 55 minutes in Hillcrest, including Ruby Lux red light therapy. That is already the price many studios reserve for a series, with no package to buy. Around San Diego, pigment-focused peels are commonly listed from about $190 to $395 per session.
What is a mandelic peel?
A chemical peel led by mandelic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid with a larger molecule than glycolic. It penetrates more slowly and evenly, which makes it a favorite for brightening dark spots and pigment-prone skin.
Is this a good peel for melasma?
Mandelic acid is a well-studied choice for melasma, and we pair it with brighteners like tranexamic acid and alpha-arbutin. Melasma is chronic and hormonal, so it responds best to repeat visits, daily SPF and steady home care rather than one strong peel.
Will it fade dark spots and post-acne marks?
Yes, that is what it is built for. Sun spots and post-acne marks usually fade over a few visits spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. HSA/FSA cards accepted if acne related.
Will I peel afterward?
Only if you want to. We can keep it to no visible peeling, or apply it stronger for light-to-medium flaking around days 3 to 6, with no gym or sweating for 5 to 7 days. You choose before anything is applied.
Can I get a peel if I've been in the sun?
Please avoid tanning or sunburn for 10 days before your peel and for 30 days after, because sun-stressed and freshly peeled skin can darken. Wear SPF 30+ every day.
How is it different from the Lunchtime Glycolic Peel and TCA Chemical Peel?
This peel is for pigment: dark spots, melasma and post-acne marks. The Lunchtime Glycolic Peel is for glow, texture and clogged pores, and the TCA Chemical Peel goes deeper for acne scars and older sun damage.
Can I get a peel while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Pregnant or breastfeeding? Tell us when you book and we'll adjust your treatment.
