How much does PRX cost in San Diego at Conjure?
PRX is $349 per session. Most people plan a series, and your nurse sets the number of visits with you. Have code CONJURE1 ready when you call or text.
What is PRX-T33?
PRX-T33 is a medical-grade blend of 33% TCA, hydrogen peroxide and kojic acid. The hydrogen peroxide buffers the acid, so it renews skin from within without the surface damage of a classic chemical peel.
Why is PRX called the no-peel peel?
It uses a strong peel acid but leaves the outer layer intact, so there is no significant visible peeling. Some people notice a few light flakes days later, and that is all.
How many PRX sessions will I need?
Most plans run 3 to 5 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, often with hydrating facials in between. One visit before an event gives a quick glow.
Does PRX hurt, and is there downtime?
You feel warmth and a brisk tingle during each pass that settles quickly, and no numbing is needed. Skin can look a little flushed for a few hours. Makeup can go on the same day, and daily SPF matters.
Is PRX good for all skin types?
Yes. PRX suits every skin type, including deeper skin, and can be done any time of year. Your nurse checks your skin first to confirm it is a good match for you.
Who should not get PRX?
Skip it while pregnant or breastfeeding, on irritated, easily irritated or broken-out skin, with seborrheic dermatitis, during a cold sore flare or any active rash or skin eruption, or with a kojic acid or latex allergy. Your nurse goes over this before treatment.
What is the difference between PRX and a chemical peel?
Both use acids, but a classic peel works through controlled surface injury and shedding. PRX signals the deeper layers and leaves the surface alone. If a true peel suits you better, our skin therapists offer a custom peel.
Is PRX the same as a Vampire Facial?
No. That name refers to microneedling with PRP, which uses your own plasma and a needle pen. PRX uses no needles at all. For the PRP option, see microneedling with PRP.
Can PRX be combined with other treatments?
Yes. PRX can be added to microneedling as an anti-aging boost, and it pairs well with Korean glass skin facials between sessions. Your nurse plans the timing.
How do I prepare for PRX?
Avoid sunburn, tanning beds and self-tanner for at least 1 to 2 weeks and wear SPF 30 or higher daily. Pause retinoids for about a week and acids, scrubs and benzoyl peroxide for 2 to 3 days, or as your nurse directs. Tell your nurse about Accutane in the past six months, pregnancy or breastfeeding, allergies including kojic acid, latex or aspirin, and cold sores, and come with clean skin and no makeup.
What should I do after PRX?
Expect warmth and a light flush for a few hours. You can wash your face the next day with a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil or CeraVe. Moisturize generously and wear SPF 30 or higher every day. Skip retinoids, acids and scrubs until 10 days after treatment, then restart them, avoid saunas and sweaty workouts for 24 to 48 hours, and let any light flakes come off on their own.
When should I call after PRX?
Call or text 442.655.8617 if you have burning or pain that gets worse, blisters, raw or open skin, an itchy rash or hives, redness or swelling that spreads or lasts more than 2 to 3 days, pus or a fever, a cold sore outbreak, or dark or light patches that do not fade. Call 911 for trouble breathing or swelling of the face, lips or throat.
Aftercare

Simple steps for calm skin and a lasting glow. General guidance; always follow your provider's instructions and call us with concerns.
Before Your Appointment
- Avoid sunburn, tanning beds and self-tanner for at least 1 to 2 weeks before your visit. PRX is not done on sunburned skin. Wear SPF 30 or higher every day.
- Pause retinoids (retinol, tretinoin, adapalene) for about 1 week, and acids, scrubs and benzoyl peroxide for 2 to 3 days, or as your nurse directs.
- Tell your nurse if you took isotretinoin (Accutane) in the past six months, are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive, or have had Botox, filler, laser or waxing in the area recently.
- Tell your nurse about any allergies, including kojic acid, latex, aspirin, or past reactions to peels or acids such as TCA.
- If you get cold sores, ask your nurse about an antiviral; it is often started the day before.
- Reschedule if you have a sunburn, rash, cold sore, open skin or an irritated or broken-out area. Come with clean skin and no makeup.
After Your Treatment
- Warmth, a tingle and a light flush are normal and usually fade within a few hours.
- You can wash your face the next day with a gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil or CeraVe.
- Use cool or lukewarm water and pat dry, do not rub.
- Moisturize generously, morning and night, and more often if skin feels dry or tight.
- Wear SPF 30 or higher every day and limit sun. No tanning beds or self-tanner for 2 weeks.
- Skip retinoids, acids, scrubs and benzoyl peroxide until 10 days after treatment, then restart them.
- Skip saunas, hot tubs, hot showers and sweaty workouts for 24 to 48 hours.
- Makeup is usually fine the same day. Do not pick light flakes, and check with your skin therapist before waxing, a facial or a peel.
- Right afterWarm, tingly and a little flushed. Skin feels firmer and looks fresh.
- Day 1Flush has faded. Gentle cleanse, moisturize and SPF. Mild tightness is normal.
- Days 2 to 3A few light flakes or small darker patches may appear. Moisturize; do not pick.
- Days 4 to 7Skin settles. Keep it simple with a gentle cleanser, moisturizer and SPF.
- Week 2 and beyondRestart actives 10 days after treatment. Glow and texture keep improving. Next session in about 4 to 6 weeks if planned.
