YOUR BLOOD, SPUN PLATELET-RICHLAYER RED CELLS PRFM FIBRIN MATRIX, SLOW RELEASE Platelets in a fibrin mesh

How PRFM works

What Is PRFM?

PRFM (platelet-rich fibrin matrix) is a type of PRF made from a small sample of your own blood. A centrifuge separates the golden, platelet-rich layer, which is prepared so it forms a soft fibrin gel. That gel holds your platelets where they are injected, so they release growth factors over several days instead of all at once, which helps support collagen and skin repair.

GROWTH-FACTOR RELEASE, LAB PATTERN PRP: fast burst PRF: steady release HOURS DAYS 1–3 DAY 10 The fibrin matrix holds platelets in place, so growth factors keep releasing for days.

What PRF Can Realistically Do

Research on PRF is promising but still developing. Most studies are small, so here is how strong the evidence is for each area.

Face and neck

Skin quality

The most consistent finding: thicker, more elastic skin. Results on wrinkles are mixed.

Under the eyes

Under-eyes

Small trials show smoother skin and some lightening. Deep hollows still need filler.

With microneedling

Acne scars

Small split-face studies found better scar scores than the device alone.

Scalp injections

Thinning hair

Small trials show more hair density. Results vary and need upkeep.

Is it right for you?

Who PRF Injections Suit Best

  • Thin, crepey skin or mild hollows under the eyes
  • Dull skin or early fine lines on the face or neck
  • Early thinning hair, ideally with other proven hair loss care
  • You want a gradual, natural-looking change from your own blood

PRFM works gradually and results vary from person to person. It does not replace filler for deeper volume loss, and it will not lift sagging skin.

When Another Option Fits Better

PRFM is not a fit if you have a platelet or bleeding disorder, very low platelets, severe anemia, an active infection or skin infection in the area, or active cancer, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Blood thinners and anti-inflammatory pain relievers such as ibuprofen and aspirin affect platelets, so tell your nurse everything you take, and never stop a prescribed blood thinner on your own.

How much do PRF injections cost in San Diego?

PRFM is priced per session, and most plans are a short series, so the total depends on the area and how many visits you need. Text 442.655.8617 with code CONJURE1 and the area you want to treat, and a Satori nurse will reply with a quote.

What is PRFM?

PRFM stands for platelet-rich fibrin matrix. A small blood sample is spun in a centrifuge to separate the golden, platelet-rich layer, which is prepared so it forms a soft fibrin gel. That gel holds your platelets in place, and they release growth factors gradually as the skin repairs, which supports collagen.

Is PRFM the same as PRF?

PRFM is a type of PRF (platelet-rich fibrin). Both are made from your own blood and hold platelets in a fibrin network; the names differ mostly by how the sample is prepared. People searching for PRF injections, PRF under eye or PRF hair treatment are looking for the same kind of treatment Satori offers as PRFM.

PRF vs PRP: which is better?

Both come from your own blood. PRP is a liquid that releases most of its growth factors within the first hour. PRF holds platelets in fibrin, and in lab testing it released growth factors steadily over about 10 days. Small studies comparing the two found similar results in most areas, with PRF ahead in a few, such as the skin around the eyes. Neither is a clear winner for everyone, and your nurse will suggest the better fit for your goal.

PRF vs filler for under-eye hollows: which should I choose?

Filler adds volume right away, so it suits clear hollows and deeper tear troughs. PRFM works gradually on the skin itself and suits thin, crepey skin, fine lines and mild hollows. In studies, PRF improved mild hollowness but did not correct severe hollows. Some people use both, and your nurse can tell you which fits your under-eyes.

Can PRF injections help dark circles?

Sometimes. Small studies found PRF lightened under-eye darkness caused by pigment or thin skin over a series of sessions, but most people improved by about one grade rather than clearing completely. Shadows from bags, deep hollows or genetics usually need a different approach, so your nurse will look at what is causing yours first.

How soon will I see results?

Results build gradually as collagen responds. Skin often starts to look smoother and healthier a few weeks after the first session, and studies usually measure results a few months after the last session in a series. Hair changes take longer, often three months or more.

How many PRFM sessions will I need?

Most plans are a series of about three sessions, spaced roughly a month apart, followed by maintenance visits. For thinning hair, dermatologists commonly suggest monthly sessions for three months, then every three to six months. Your nurse will set the plan for your goal.

What is the downtime after PRF injections?

Expect redness, small bumps where the injections went in, mild swelling and tenderness for a day or two. Bruising is possible, especially under the eyes, and can take up to a week or so to fade. Most people return to work the same day or the next.

Do PRF injections hurt?

The blood draw feels like a routine lab test. Numbing cream is applied before facial injections, and most people feel pressure and brief pinches. The under-eye area can feel more sensitive than the cheeks or scalp.

Can PRF help with hair loss?

It can help some people. Small clinical trials found more hair density after a series of PRF scalp injections, and in some trials PRF did slightly better than PRP. Results vary, it works best for early pattern thinning, and it needs maintenance. It is not a fit for every cause of hair loss, so the cause matters first.

Is PRFM FDA cleared?

The kits used to prepare platelet concentrates such as PRFM are FDA cleared as medical devices, generally for preparing platelets for bone grafts. Injecting PRFM into the face or scalp is an off-label use. It is widely used in aesthetic medicine, and because it comes from your own blood, the risk of allergy is low.

Is PRFM the same as a Vampire Facial?

Not exactly. Vampire Facial is a trademarked name for a specific branded treatment, though people often use it for any facial that uses growth factors from your own blood. Conjure does not offer the branded treatment. We offer PRFM injections and microneedling with PRP, which both use your own platelets.

Do you offer EZ Gel?

No. EZ Gel is a different plasma-based gel. Satori prefers PRFM for under-eye and skin quality treatments, and offers dermal fillers when you need more volume.

Who should not get PRF injections?

PRFM is not a fit if you have a platelet or bleeding disorder, very low platelets, severe anemia, an active infection or skin infection in the area, or active cancer, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Blood thinners and anti-inflammatory pain relievers such as ibuprofen and aspirin affect platelets, so tell your nurse everything you take, and never stop a prescribed blood thinner on your own.
